Spotting a scam before it happens
The commonest tricks used to steal from exchange customers — fake support, copycat sites, payment outside the trade — and the signs that give them away.

Fake support
Someone on Telegram, WhatsApp or the phone says they work for the exchange and, to "fix a problem with your account", asks for an SMS code, your password or your two-step code.
- Sarafi Iranian's support will never ask for these codes.
- Support never suggests moving your assets to another address "for safety".
- The only official channels and numbers are the ones on the contact page.
Copycat sites
A page that looks like the exchange but whose address is slightly different: an extra letter, a hyphen, another domain. A password typed there goes straight to the thief.
- 1Always type the address yourself or use a saved bookmark.
- 2Before typing your password, look at the address bar: sarafiranian.com.
- 3Do not sign in through links in text messages or adverts.
Payment outside the trade
On the peer-to-peer market, the other side suggests finishing the trade outside the trade screen "to make it quicker", or paying before the asset is locked in escrow.
The only thing protecting you is the exchange's escrow, and it only works for a trade done on the trade screen. Money sent outside it is not something we can trace.
Fake receipts
A buyer sends a picture of a receipt for a transfer that never happened, or whose amount has been edited. Do not confirm payment until you see the money in your own bank account; an uploaded receipt is not a bank statement.
Guaranteed returns
Anyone offering "fixed daily profit" or "risk-free investment" in currency or gold either does not know what they are saying or does. Sarafi Iranian has no investment schemes and no guaranteed returns.
If you were taken in
- 1Change your password straight away and sign out of every device.
- 2Contact support so withdrawals can be stopped.
- 3If money was moved, contact the cyber police (FATA) and keep every reference number.
Tether's networks: TRC20, ERC20 and BEP20
Tether exists on several separate blockchains. Choosing the wrong network is the most common way to lose funds — and it usually cannot be undone.
